Strong composition is a critical component to any successful photograph. This six-week, digital photography course presented by Gallery+ artist/owner, Zackary Hoon, emphasizes strong compositional skills while challenging your creative vision. In addition to instruction, the course will consist of 2-3 assignments where students share their work during positive, class critiques. A group photo outing is available for those who wish to participate. Class size is limited to 6. The course will culminates with a student show at Gallery+ during a Third Friday at 78th Street Studios.

This six-week, digital photography course presented by Gallery+ artist/owner, Zackary Hoon, explores the difference between looking and seeing. In addition to instruction, the course will consist of 2-3 assignments where students share their work during positive, class critiques. We all know one. That person who’s incredibly talented but isn’t doing anything with it. This 13-week Artist in Denial course which is built on three pillars: Admit it, Do it, and Share it. Based on The Artists’s Way by Julia Cameron, the course will conclude with a private party where new works will be shared. Student work will also be on display during a Third Friday at 78th Street Studios. Classes are Wednesdays 6:30-8:30 from May 3 - August 2 (No class on July 26) -OR- Saturdays 10:00am-noon from May 13 - August 19 (No classes July 22 & July 29). In addition to instruction, the course will consist of 2-3 assignments where students share their work during positive, class critiques. Coordinated by The West Side Markers Figure Drawing Group, classes are held every Monday at Gallery+ from 6:30 - 9:00pm. Open to anyone who wants to draw from a live model, all types of drawing and painting medium are welcome (but poses tend to be too short for painting in oil). We follow a traditional format similar to the Cleveland Institute of Art, starting with gestures, then going into longer poses, usually up to 30 minutes. Information about each session is available on Facebook and Meetup. Cost is $10 per person per session. Note models are unclothed.
